YFL+Creme+Baby+Gracie+Oliver

I haven't had time to update my blog about the 3 masked-eteers. Was so busy at school the last few weeks... What with the IFD, Maths and Science Awareness Week and my lesson observation... Just so glad that they are over!

Anyway, I think I should change my rlog to the 4 masked-eteers cos I have officially adopted Creme to be part of the family. :)

She arrived at my place on Good Friday, which was... the 14 Apr 2006. She was chasing Baby all over the place at her foster parents' place. But when she came back with me, she was as meek as a mouse! Hahaha... It didn't take long for the youngsters to bond. To show his delight, Baby did a few rounds of 'binkies' in the air. But apparantly, the new found friend wasn't very pleased as she is more of a 'people-rabbit', not a 'rabbit-rabbit'. She ran away the moment Baby went near her. She refuses to groom Baby up till today. Baby is just glad to have somebunny with him that he seemed more calmed down when I go near him. The whines are now less frequent. ( He used to whine a lot when I pat him... What a 'whiner'!)

Look at the way they were ignoring each other. Only good thing is... they were not fighting...

BUT... on the other side of the wall, the Queen of the masked-eteers thought that she smelt something different. When she saw Creme, she wasn't very delighted. She chased her along the panels. Everytime Creme moved an inch, she was growling and chasing after her. Reminds me of the song 'Every Breadth You Take'. She was literally chasing her in her own way! Gosh... when she finally realised that she couldn't get her, she took it out on poor Ollie. Poor Ollie lost a bit of hair during those 3 days. Not that he's balding, but he was so mild that he just allowed the Queen to walk all over him! I even added cardboards in between them so that she could not see Creme. But... it still didn't work...

I was very stressed over those few days. Called Ade and she told me to separate the play areas to see if it worked.

Wala! The trick worked like magic! The minute I separated the play areas with a gap in between the 2 play areas, Gracie the Queen was OKAY! She went to 'sayang' Ollie. She was as sweet as she could be. She was back to her normal self.

Anyway, I was too happy for words. I was contemplating sending Creme back cos Gracie was stressing poor Ollie out. Rose might not want to take Creme back cos we just rescued a bunny with a sprained leg and it might need a lot of care. So Creme had to be with me. So at least I know she's now with me for good.

I am unable to show pictures of the latest play pen setup as my camera is now with my parents in China! Will update with pics soon!

Creme's Biodata

Name: Creme

Gender: Female

Favourite Pastime: Licking humans' hands, Avoiding Baby

Favourite Food: Veggies, Pellets!

Ambition: To become the world's first bunny High-jumper. She has already 'scaled' the old setup which had lower panels and had caused mayhem when she went to the Queen and her subject's play area. Little is needed to say about what happened there... Signs of mayhem; fur everywhere, 3 panting rabbits and a super-stressed out owner... I am using a higher one right now so she's still trying to figure out how to do it... *keep fingers crossed*

Past History: She was abandoned at about a few months old. A member of the public emailed us seeking help that she saw a bunny wandering on her own at Punggol Park. That very night when all of us saw the email, we thought she was a goner cos it was raining cats and dogs then. The next day, 2 of my friends went to the park to look for her. They nearly gave up after searching for her for 2 hours. Then they saw an old uncle looking at something near the beach and decided to ask him about the abandoned rabbit. Uncle said,'There she is! Hiding in between the cracks of the rocks, seeking shelter from the rain and the cat who was watching her above!' My friends nearly died when they heard that. They thanked the uncle, shooed the cat away and my Creme was rescued! She wasn't very dirty when she was found. We kinda suspected that she was smart enough to find shelter there and hid herself well from predators. Anyway, she's really gung-ho despite being so young!

We had an event at the Youth Park on 8 Apr 2006. It was such a huge success. There were so many people who came in tow with their kids for the Colouring Contest that I couldn't believe it. We were talking about having busloads and busloads of school children coming to our event during our committee meeting and making it sound like a joke and when it really happened, all of us were too stunned for words... Hahaha... Some photos to show how successful the event was...

The colouring contest... all the 'artists' wannabes were there....

The potential adopters...

The grooming people... with all the fur flying everywhere!

Me and the rest of the volunteers...

That's Kaps and Cherie trying to roll up the banner after the event. Kaps is the only guy in our midst! Haha...

We all had fun that day... I talked to a number of people about rabbitcare... Good experience...

Will update again!
