creme... the fighter...

Creme just went through an operation to remove her abscess yesterday. When I visited her yesterday, I was shocked to see her wound so big and bloody! It was really scary to see her like this. Luckily for her, she didn't know that she looked horrible.

When she saw me, she stood up immediately and she looked quite all right even though she just woke up from the op. But when I called the vet again later that night, the vet assistant told me that she didn't want to eat. I was worried.

I called this afternoon and I was told the same thing. Started to panic and I couldn't wait to go to see her. After the Moonlit Nite at school, I rushed down only to be told that she had started eating!

What a relief!

I saw her again just now and kept patting her asking her to be strong. She seemed quite okay but she looked tired. She laid on her side enjoying all the pats that I had given her. She looked good.

When Dr Ng gave her another jab, she didn't even move this time. I think she must have got so used to it. Such a brave little girl. If I were her, I think I would have given up...

I think there's always something we learn from rabbits. Never give up and always be positive even if you meet with difficulties.

I hope Creme will recover soon...

The picture below is not for the faint-hearted. These are stuff removed from Creme during the op. The capsule which surrounded the pus was removed. The pus which has toothpaste like texture oozed out during the op. So only the capsule was left. Dr Heng also extracted her teeth and found bits of rotten teeth too. Her upper teeth are all gone. Dr Heng mentioned that 2 or 3 months later, she might have drooling problems caused by her lower set of molars over growing. It's really tough for the poor girl... Really hope she would be well soon...

update on creme... from baby!

Hi everyone,

As all of you know, my mei-mei has an abscess near her eye area. It has caused a bit of concern in the humans' household. My human has been pretty stressed up lately cos of mei-mei so I have taken over the job of updating the blog for her.

Poor Creme mei-mei! She has to go back to Dr Heng for jabs every alternate day. She just had her 5th jab this morning. She also went for an X-ray at ARC and the vet there had diagnosed it to be most likely a tooth root problem. My human was worried but she knew she had to be strong for mei-mei cos mei-mei had been a very good girl the past week despite all the injections. Although she screamed the first time(I was present then, mind you... My human brought me along and I was on high alert when I heard that as we rabbits do not scream unless we are in great danger!), I thought she had been very brave for the last 4 jabs for she didn't even move when Dr Heng gave her the jabs. She has my utmost respect! Way to go mei-mei! (:

This is mei-mei resting... She's very tired after the X-ray and the jab. She struggled so much at the vet during her X-ray! This girl... she really hates being carried...

Anyway, her operation is taking place on Thursday. And even then, it doesn't mean complete recovery for her. She still has to go through her jabs and the flushing out of the pus by my human everyday! Poor mei-mei! I hope everyone prays for her that she will be strong to overcome any difficulties she has ahead of her. She's such a great gal and I know I will be strong for her too. I have been helping her to keep her eyes dry by licking the tears. I think that's why her tearing seems to be better nowadays. I am going to continue doing that.

I know everyone of you have been concerned about her. Thank you very much... Aunty Rose, Charmaine jie-jie, Aunty Esther and Uncle Sara for asking after her always... Thank you Aunty Ade and Aunty Angie for their advice on mei-mei's condition...
I know mei-mei will get well soon with everyone's prayers and well wishes!

Lastly, my human wants me to confess that I have been not so good last week as...

I fought with Oliver gor-gor...

Yeah... I fought with him as I escaped from my play pen last Friday hoping to extend a paw of friendship to him but we fought instead... So that's how I had that scar on my nose above. My human was mad as she was already so stressed over mei-mei. So I had a scolding from her and she made me do this thing which her school loved to make the teachers in her school do...

REFLECT...

I didn't know what it meant at first but what I know was that I was supposed to stand really still in a corner of the play pen with a leaf on my head and not make it drop and look really, really sorry... which of course I did.

I am truly sorry... :(

This is me today. Looks much better ya...

But I also showed that I was sorry by showering mei-mei with lots of licks and kisses. Is that considered good enough?

Will keep you guys updated about mei-mei!

have you ever heard a rabbit scream?

It was so ear piercing, a high pitched scream, a shriek so scary that it turned my knees weak and brought tears to my eyes. I cried in front of the vet as she held Creme who was screaming in terror after her injection. She's got abscess and I am very worried about her...

She literally kicked up a big fuss in the carrier after we put her in. She tore the newspapers in the carrier and she was visibly upset. I cried and my hands were shaking when I brought her out, still not believing what I just heard.

And I have to make her go through it again... not twice but at least 5 more times! I really have no idea how I am going to take the stress the next 2 weeks. I was so stressed up cos of her that I kept waking up in the middle of the night just to check on her. I was so afraid that she wouldn't want to eat that I had to hand feed her several times today.

I really hope that the abscess would go away after all the jabs. It pains me to see her so upset and in pain. But I kept telling her to be strong for me and Baby. I know that this girl's a fighter for she survived on her own on a stormy night when she was abandoned by her previous owner. This is nothing to her.

Creme, I will do anything I can to make you well. I only need you to be strong and fight this battle with me, ok? Cos I will be strong for you and Baby needs you too...

Let's pray for her...

Creme and her watery eye. The abscess is just below that eye.

bunny yawns...

Check out this link which my friend sent me!

http://talkingegg.com/humor/bunnyyawns.html

There are people who have managed to capture that elusive bunny yawn in their camera. The closest I could get was a very blur picture of Creme doing that. Word has it that this yawn comes only for that mere 2 seconds and if you missed it, you got to wait till don't know when when it would do it again...

2 front paws stretched out... back arched... hind legs firmly on the ground... and then the 2 second bunny yawn... eyes closed... mouth opened and teeth exposed...

That's when you realised that bunnies have more than 2 teeth! Haha...

Cute!

what do rabbits do on a hot and sunny afternoon?

What do rabbits do on a hot and sunny afternoon?

"Wah! It's really hot... you know... " - me

Oliver snoozes... day dreams about his pellets and... sun and/or air his 2 huge ears...

Creme snoozes... and also... sun and/or air one of her huge ears...

Baby snoozes... and sun and/or air his 2 huge ears... too...

Gracie was afraid of turning dark like me. She's afraid that her "RK-II" mask would go to waste so she hides in her cardboard house... she also chooses to sun and/or air her 2 huge ears...

Looks like everybunny's pretty lazy on a hot and sunny afternoon... and everybunny loves to sun and/or air their ears... geez...

YAWN...

what do rabbits do on a cool and wet afternoon?

What do rabbits do on a cool and wet afternoon?

Oliver does rabbit-yoga... Trying to lose some weight and achieve the zen-equilibrim in him... Whatever that means...

Apparently, Baby is hiding in his fiddlesticks hut with an umbrella... to avoid the rain and thunder and lightning, he explains...

Creme is more gung-ho. She flops to her side cos the floor is nice and cool to sleep...

Oliver and Gracie hide in their cardboard home to avoid the rain too... Gracie's afraid of the loud thunder...

What a nice and lazy afternoon! :)
