Cos you had a bad dayyyy...

"Cause you had a bad day You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day You had a bad day"
~ Bad Day by Daniel Powter

Recently I have been crazy about this song... So I was wondering... Do my rabbits have bad days? *Song "Bad Day" playing in the background*

Oh yea... the pictures speak for themselves...

They do have bad days too... :)

Cheers!

10 things I didn't know about my rabbits!

10 things I didn't know about my rabbits till I had them...

1) They eat their own poo. Yea... it's cos of the way their stomach had been made. They can't absorb the nutrients from their food quickly so they end up eating their own poo known as cecal pellets.

2) They don't just eat carrots. They eat hay, pellets and vegetables.

3) They can be litter trained! Wow! Amazing huh? That means they can be allowed to run around the whole house without having to cage them up!

4) They are like us humans, all with different characters. Some are milder than others, some are fiercer than others, some are fatter than others while some are more playful than others. One word to describe my rabbits... Gracie-spoilt, Oliver-gentle, Baby-whine-r, Creme-sweet

5) They sleep for short periods during the day and night.

6) They can understand simple words if you are patient enough and have enough treats to treat them. Serious! Gracie understands the word, "Treat, treat!" She will run frantically around the room because she knows that she's going to be given her favourite slice of apple soon.

7) They do a happy hop in the air known as a 'binky' where they twist their body while doing a hop!

8) They can get angry with you and they show it by growling! Woah! Beware!

9) They can be truanced when you need to groom them.

10) When they know and trust you, they will come to you when you sit on the floor and do a flop beside you and lie really close to you. :)

Cheers!

the rabbit with a goatee..

Look at Baby! I loved taking pictures of bunnies' chins and this was what I saw when I did just that... His chin was SOOOOOO dirty! Yuck! Talk about being nice and clean, I think he's now too fat to even groom his chin! Oh gosh! Got to watch his weight now. Anyway, I quickly grabbed hold of him, truanced him, and gave him a much needed chin-grooming and here are the before and after results.
Before Grooming...
Ehhh... yea.. He looked like he had a goatee and he thought it was pretty cool... Geez...
After Grooming...

Look at his chin now! Nice and clean right... yea.. I am so proud of myself! Haha... Baby used to be very very very very (infiniti) dirty on his underside before he was sterilised. He kept peeing everywhere to mark his territory and he had a lot of matted fur that I had to send him to Ade for a 'serious' grooming session. Ade was appalled by what she saw and before I knew it, I sent him for his sterilisation faster than you could say,"Goooossshhhhhhh!" It worked and he had been squeaky clean eversince except for the occasional chin-matted-fur thingy.

No more goatee for him...

twins...

The Backside Twins! Haha.. I was wondering why they were lying down on the floor bump to bump... funny! :)

The Wonder Twins! Wonder Twins Power... ACTIVATE!!!! Yea... That was the Superheroes... What they say when they wanted some power or something... Baby and Creme really looked like twins here... except that Baby seems to be on the fatter side as you can't see his eyes when he smiles! Yikes! Talk about guys not watching their weight! How true! Cos both my girls are nice, pretty and slim! Hahaha...

I was very excited when I saw these boxes in school and I took 4 home to make tunnels for them. Creme was very excited about it. She kept going in and out. Baby was a bit fearful. But after that, he had fun!

And then I caught some bunny...
MCQ No. 1 : Whose head was that peeping out of the hole?

Was it a) Creme?
Creme: Not me! Not me! I am innocent! *blink blink*

Or b) Baby

Baby: Huh? Me? Nooooooooooo... I am so demure and sweet. Why would I play such childish games? *totally shocked look*

So... who is it actually?

Answer: ______________

Have fun! :)

funny funny funny!

I tried so hard... waited for so long... on standby... wanted to catch them yawning... I thought the moment came when Creme was sleeping in her fiddlesticks hideout. I sat there waiting for that perfect moment for her to yawn... got my camera ready... and when she finally did YAWN... my camera wasn't ready! Darn it! This was the best I could get! Shall try harder next time!

Hehe... the caption in the picture speaks for itself!

Enjoy! :)

Coco...

Presenting to everyone... Coco... the abandoned bunny... I just shifted her to her new fosterer's place... Hope she's well there... I just called the lady who's taking care of her and she said that Coco seemed fine. I really hope she would be able to find a good home soon!

She's really a sweet and inquisitive bunny. Always on a lookout for an adventure! Other than toilet training herself, she looks smart with her big long ears! Haha.. think she's really pretty!

Anyway, I took some pics of my own bunnies...

I thought that Baby looks extremely juvenile in this picture. Look at those innocent eyes! He really looks like he's still a baby! Can never grow up I guess... Some bunnies just have that cute look even though they are adults already...

This was him at 2 months old... Compare it with the one above. Any difference? Hmmmm...

This is Creme... on her hind legs... looking at the other side, wondering if she should try her high jumping skills again! *GASP* Stop her! Quick!

Look at the inside of their place!! They had so many comments about it that they had to re-do and renovate the inside again and again till they are satisfied. Luckily they didn't complain to the Rabbits Renovation Association! Phew! Ollie is thinking how glad he is to have the door in a cool jagged shape. He wants you guys to take a look at the jagged door just beside his face!

This is Gracie. Look at those eyes. So at ease and innocent.. Haha.. God knows how much damage she had done to the panels I have! She would always be biting and biting on the panels so that's how she had lost some of the fur on her face. See that line across her snout? That's the result of her constant rubbing and biting into the holes of the panel!

This is Ollie, looking at me through one of their fiddlesticks hideout. I thought he look quite cool here! What a bunny!

Cheers!

this morning...

I was playing with Creme and Baby this morning... Creme was hungry so she went to eat her veg... managed to take some pics of her eating... really cute!

That baby tried to draw attention to himself while I was taking pics of Creme eating. He kept walking in front of me, trying to nibble the string that holds the camera and also pull my shorts! See... Now he's posing himself in front of the camera! Shame shame! Haha...

Anyway, Baby seems to be getting along fine with her. Although she ignores him most of the time, he tries his best to snuggle up with her and remain that way for a longer time each day...Look at the satisfied look on her face... you will know that she is really enjoying the company of Baby although she tries really hard not to show it... She groomed him today! Finally! But only for that mere 3 seconds only! Haha... But it's a really a great effort on her part!

Cheers!

Some thoughts...

Had some thoughts on the way home just now...

I thought about the abandoned bunny yesterday and I am glad that I played a part in helping it. I hope my student will love her as much as I love my 4 babies at home...

It's not easy... Thinking back... The commitment... The time, the constant cleaning up after them, the loose fur flying around, the money for their food, the vet fees, the mediation I had to do when some bunny isn't happy with another one, the worries which I have when one of them falls sick... And yet, everytime I look at them, I know it's worth it...

They are worth all the effort I put in for them. It's difficult to explain why I feel such a connection with them. People who are not animal-people will never understand it.

I hope the girl who is keeping her now will understand what I mean... I hope she will learn to appreciate all the hard work she will put in cos of her...

I hope so... cos it's going to be a long and hard journey...

Dedicated to my 4 babies at home...

Abandoned Bunny Found!

An abandoned bunny has been found by my students. It was wandering in the car park and the girls managed to catch it. They brought it back to me and Huijun and I were frantically trying to find someone to adopt it but to no avail. In the end, one of the girls decided to bring it home. I just went over to her place to help her set up the play area for the bunny and also to bring the bunny some food. I have a feeling she might be forced to give up the bunny soon as her dad doesn't seem to like it. Let's pray hard for it!

She's really a sweet girl, so full of curiousity. She kept standing on her hind legs when she sees someone. I really hope that someone can give her a chance at life. If not, once she's sent to the SPCA, her fate is unknown and she is most likely going to be euthanized.

It's really sad... Sigh... I will upload pics of her soon... Anyway, she looks a bit like Gracie...

blue eyes blue...

I just realised that Baby, Creme and Ollie have a blue eye each! Baby and Ollie have theirs on their right and Creme has it on her left! How cool can they be! Initially, when Baby turned out to have a blue eye, we thought it was cataracts. He was sent to the vet immediately and was pronounced to be a 'blue-eyed' baby! What a relief ! :)

Some pictures to show how the other 3 try to 'hatch' their eggs...

This is 'Identity Crisis Bunny No. 1' who thinks he's a good 'Father' Hen... I have been trying to tell him since Day 1 that it's quite improper for a boy like him to be hatching an egg... But he refuses to listen... Thinks it's his call of duty...

This is No. 2! Looking quite disgusted that I caught her! Haha... :)

Not quite the same as the rest... But good enough!

Anyway, they all look really cute when they do that...

I also caught Baby and Creme in the toilet together! *evil grin*

"Alamak! Why are you disturbing us again?" Oooppsssss...................

This couple will teach us what L-O-V-E really means! This morning, I saw Gracie lying down with her head on the floor and Ollie supporting his chin on her head. Just now, I saw the 2 of them leaning close together ... AAAwwwwwww.... So sweet.........................

It really touches me to see pictures of them always so loving towards each other that I wonder why we humans are always so mean to the people who matter the most to us. Why are people so unforgiving?

Anyway... that picture above reminds me of a song...

"I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble

We never could have come this far

I took the good times, I'll take the bad times

I'll take you just the way you are" ~ Just The Way You Are by Billy Joel
